Last Week Recruitment solutions wales Bridgend and Cwmbran office took part in a bake-off day to support NATIONAL AUTISM AWARENESS WEEK.

WHAT IS AUTISM???

Autism is a lifelong, developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people, and how they experience the world around them. Autistic people see, hear and feel the world differently to other people. If you are autistic, you are autistic for life; autism is not an illness or disease and cannot be ‘cured’. Often people feel being autistic is a fundamental aspect of their identity.

Autism is a spectrum condition. All autistic people share certain difficulties, but being autistic will affect them in different ways. Some autistic people also have learning disabilities, mental health issues or other conditions, meaning people need different levels of support. All people on the autism spectrum learn and develop. With the right sort of support, all can be helped to live a more fulfilling life of their own choosing.

CHOSEN CHARITY

The Autistic Society is one of Recruitment solutions Wales chosen charities and a lump sum donation was given at Christmas (2017) as a token of our standing support. This is one of the reasons that our staff at both offices went above and beyond to raise not just a little extra money but more importantly awareness for Autism. Recruitment Solutions Wales believe that everyone has the right to have the support that will develop them to their own highest potential and with no prejudice.

Also, there are a number of staff members who hold this charity very close to their hearts. Autism is much more common than many people think. There are around 700,000 people on the autism spectrum in the UK If you include their families, autism is a part of daily life for 2.8 million people.

CHARITY DAY

So last week we at Recruitment Solution Wales we had a bake-off competition with our very own Mr Paul Hollywood (aka Mark West) Judging. There many beautiful cakes of all descriptions and pies and even a corned beef pasty. However, in the end it was Luke (Bridgend) with his smarties filled piñata cup cakes and Jade (Cwmbran) with her salted caramel filled vanilla cup cakes that WON!!! Receiving a bottle of prosecco each for their win.

We at Recruitment Solutions Wales are proud to pay it forward to such an important charity and are immensely proud of our TEAM for all of their effort and support.
