Production Supervisor

RSW Ltd are actively looking for a Production Supervisor, to join our client based in the Magor area. The client is a well-known Steel Construction Company so knowledge and experience of working with Steel is an advantage.

The company are currently in the process of setting up a new site based in Magor so the successful candidate for this role will be expected to work from both sites.

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Team Leader and will be used to organising and planning the tasks and duties of a small team whilst working alongside and reporting to the Production Supervisor.

Main Tasks and Duties

Organising tasks/workload for own allocated team and other associated staff

Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed and accurate, both written and computer related.

Implement working practices and deadlines set by the Production Supervisor

Ensuring that quality standards are always implemented and adhered to.

Maintaining safety standards, conducting risk assessments, ensuring staff have adequate first aid and fire safety training

Briefing their teams on new initiatives, changes to targets and company news

Training, coaching, and mentoring are a key skill required for helping staff reach their professional development goals

Work towards and workloads, tasks that have been set and monitoring teams progress against targets.

Report any production processes that could be revised to the Production Supervisor

Conduct performance reviews with the Production Supervisor

Compiling staff rotas, dealing with leave requests and arranging cover when necessary

Ensure all documentation and company records are kept up to date and filed in the relevant folder(s)

Carry out toolbox talks and document attendance and understanding of subject matter.

Be comfortable working in a busy Production environment. Working alongside the other Team Leaders as required

Liaise with Internal Technical Managers, Design Team, Project Managers, and Site Managers, as required.

The ability to work closely and in a private & confidential manner with colleagues is a necessity of the role.

Working hours & Pay Rates

Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 16:00

Friday 07:00 – 13:30

2 x 10-minute paid breaks plus 1 x 30 minute unpaid break.

£28500 rising to £30000 after successful completion of probationary period

The ideal candidate:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Team Leader/Junior Management role

IT literate with experience of all the main packages

A qualification in a management capacity is preferred but not essential.
