RSW LTD  are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to work for our fast-growing client based in Magor, Newport.

Key Skills and qualifications

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a supervisory/management role and will used to organising and planning the tasks and duties of a small to medium sized team of factory-based staff.

A hands-on approach is essential and the ability to communicate, both verbally and written, is a key skill for the successful candidate. Problem solving (process and people) is a key skill that the candidate must have experience of the day to day running of a facility so process, etc. is kept on track and efficient.

The candidate must have the ability to work well within a team and autonomous. The role will require innovative thinking on a daily basis, and this is a key skill that is required.

Knowledge of Steel in a manufacturing capacity is required. The candidate must be computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and preferably has knowledge of Structural (Tekla, etc.)  design software.

The ability to understand technical/structural drawings is a must.

A very good working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is essential.

The role is salary based with the usual benefits applied.

Main Tasks and Duties

Organising tasks/workload for Team leaders and associated staff.

Ensuring all relevant documentation, paperwork is completed and accurate.

Devising work schedules and implementing deadlines

Ensuring that quality standards are maintained and where necessary revised and implemented where relevant.

Maintaining safety standards, conducting risk assessments, ensuring staff have adequate first aid and fire safety training

Briefing their teams on new initiatives, changes to targets and company news

Recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring are a key skill required for helping staff reach their professional development goals

Planning workloads, allocating tasks and monitoring progress against targets.

Review and revise, where necessary, production processes to increase efficiencies and productivity.

Conduct performance reviews with Team Leaders and overseeing the performance of subordinate staff.

Compiling staff rotas, dealing with leave requests and arranging cover when necessary

Ensure all documentation and company records are kept up to date.

Ensure reporting staff maintain records and documentation and file in the relevant folders.

Liaise with Technical Managers, Design Team, Project Managers, and Site Managers to ensure instructions regarding panel deliveries, etc., is communicated and documentation supplied.

Having the ability to bring ideas and solutions to ongoing problems

Has the ability to work closely and in a private & confidential manner with colleagues is a necessity of the role.

Ensuring all daily equipment checks are carried out and recorded in the appropriate manner. Any issues raised must be acted on and resolved accordingly.

Hours of work/salary

Monday – Thursday 07.00 – 16.00

Friday – 07.00 – 13.30

Meal break – 30 minutes unpaid daily

This is a salary paid position.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory/Management role

HND/HNC in an engineering capacity (Electrical/Mechanical preferred)

IT literate with experience of all the main packages

A qualification in a management capacity is preferred but not essential.

Full working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 is essential.
