Job Description:
You must be capable of setting, maintaining, fault finding and continually improving operations in a high volume manufacturing company.
Requirements : To comply with the rules, requirements and agreements of the company at all times.
To carry out all instructions given through the chain of supervision.
To set and fully maintain all machines and equipment within your assigned area " as designated , with absolute attention, competence and commitment for ".
The requirements of the production programme.
The maximisation of production line/machine performance and efficiency.
The quality standard and/or specification of the product, machine, process, function or operation.
The speed/standard time allocation of the machine, process, or function.
To demonstrate the same principles as outlined above for any new, modified or combined machine, item of equipment, process or function.
To develop and carry out all necessary maintenance and repair requirements of machines and equipment as instructed. This will include (a) development of routine, preventative and total productivity maintenance programmes of machines and equipment. (b) to develop, acquire and control all machine and equipment spares requirements. (c) identification of machine, equipment and process deficiences. (d) programs to improve the efficiency of machines, equipment and processes.
To be competent in a variety of electro-mechanical skills including the programme and fault finding of PLC's, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, the use of standard maintenance machine tools, gas and arc welding etc.
To work in conjucntion with the maintenance department if required, on machine and or process breakdowns in order to minimise lost production time.
To communicate with departmental supervision on matters relating to, for example (a) machine spares (b) recurring and potential problems (c) initiatives for ongoing improvement.
To work closely with the production engineering department in projects involving new or modified layouts, production problems, ongoing improvement.
To become fully acquainted with any new plant or equipment as required.
To actively contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the quality performance, efficiency and housekeeping standards of the department by (a) S.M.E.D. philosophies in relation to machine and product changeover. (b) housekeeping (c) participation in team or individual activity seeking ongoing improvement. (d) training of other employees (e) information recording. (f) material handling including the use of pallet and forklift truck.
To undertake any training or education requirements identified by the company as being necessary for the development of the individual in relation to his/her existing or foreseen role.
To maintain a good standard of toolkit commensurate to achieving the requirments as outlined within this job specification.

3 x shift rotation pattern.
Overtime payable at time and a half, except for Sunday which is double time. ( At present there is a lot of overtime on offer.
Holidays are 25 per annum plus the 8 statutory bank holidays.
Immediate start for right candidates.
Standard working week is 37-hours.
