Job Description:
The main purpose of this position is to continuously improve manufacturing processes and equipment effectiveness through the application of total productive maintenance principles and techniques.
Improve the skills of team leaders and department peers by sharing knowledge. Achievement of departmental objectives and KPI's.
You will be required to maintain and support the production areas by undertaking basic maintenance tasks and reacting live to breakdowns.
Continuous improvement - introduce improvements that have a positive impact on plant productivity.
Maintain safe working practic es.
PM work orders to be completed by their due date using the MP2 database tool.
Become a key member of a team by ensuring technical problems are resolved efficiently and effectively.
Basic monitoring and modification of PLC and OPTO program contral software.
Use Factory Standards as the blueprint for housekeeping maintenance and awareness, including common aesthetic principles.
Education and Qualifications :
HNC in an engineering discipline, ideally electro mechanical. Recognised multi-skilled apprenticeship, electrical bias.
A minimum of 3-5 years manufacturing experience in a repetitive high variety, high volume environment.
This role demands a strong character that thrives on the continual challenges associated with the fast pace of tier 1 automotive supplier.
Sound knowledge of preventative maintenance systems, PLC's, OMRON PLC, pneumatics and lean tools.
Flexible approach to shift working to support the production facility.
Able to work part of a team both within own department and in conjunction with other departments.
Must adopt a methodical approach to problem solving, paying particular attention to detail.
Understand and practice lean methods and lean thinking.
Must be able to change and improve and think outside the box.
Familiar with process capability studies.
Awareness of TPM methodology.
Immediate start for right candidate.
This is a 3-month rolling contract.
Occasional night shift work may be required - paying £13.02 per hour
