| Specification: | ROLE: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER REPORTS TO: Head of HR. Dotted line report to Factory Manager. Role forms part of central HR Team and site Senior Team JOB PURPOSE: deliver the company People Plan and lead the site HR Team to deliver a high quality service DIRECT REPORTS: HR Advisor x 2 and HR Assistant x 1 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Strategy - contribute to the formulation of the company people strategy. Formulate and deliver site people strategy Play an active role in the central HR Team and site Senior Team Leadership - lead and develop the HR Team to maximise performance and potential and deliver best practice. Change management. Challenge the status quo and drive culture change. Support and deliver business change initiatives and lead the people aspects of change processes. Employee relations - develop positive employee relations through fostering team working, communication and employee engagement. Formulate and deliver the site employee relations strategy. Union liaison including participating in pay negotiations and revising agreements and terms and conditions of employment. Maintain the Companys code of conduct through the effective operation of the disciplinary and grievance procedures. Prepare employment tribunal defence including liaison with legal advisors. Employee engagement lead the employee engagement survey and action planning process at site level Organisation design implement changes to the organisation design to meet changing business needs Service Delivery - upgrade policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative, company and customer requirements. Integrate HR into the business by developing close working relationships with managers and delivering a quality service. Learning and Development - coach and develop the management team. Co-ordinate the learning and development process at site and maintain training records. Resourcing and talent planning - lead the recruitment process up to and including Senior Manager level. Maximise labour availability and flexibility including attendance management. Lead the talent management and career planning process at site level. Performance and reward - Formulate the pay and reward strategy for the site. Conduct pay negotiations and co-ordinate the annual pay review process. Co-ordinate the annual appraisal process. Lead the performance management process. Manage the site catering contract Project management Budget management Some travel required to Head Office and other sites. SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE Generalist HR experience including experience at Senior Manager level Leadership skills. Experience of leading an HR Team Experience of operating in a medium/large FMCG environment Strong change management experience, some of which has been acquired in a unionised environment. Strong employee relations experience gained in a unionised environment including :- conducting pay negotiations changing agreements/ terms and conditions of employment building and changing Union relationships managing multiple collective bargaining groups Experience of creating and implementing strategy Strong communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels. Strong influencing and negotiating skills Experience of creating and implementing policies and procedures Experience of employee engagement initiatives Experience of talent management and career planning Sound knowledge of employment law and best practice. Experience of disciplinary and grievance handling.
