| Specification: | Essential • Possess a teacher training qualification or be willing to work towards one. • To hold a professional qualification in plumbing and gas at least to level 3 or advanced craft, completed an apprenticeship and have practised in the industry for a significant period. • Hold Assessor/Verifier awards or be willing to work towards them. • Be able to deliver and assess on courses at differing levels, including but not limited to the following: City and Guilds 6129 both full time and part time up to level 2/3. ACS Training and assessment on specialist gas courses. Water regulations training. Unvented hot water training. Energy Efficiency City and Guilds 6089. • Be willing to contribute to the success of the department through the role as: City and Guilds 6129 coordinator, responsible for registrations and examinations. Course tutor for: 2nd year full time groups (1st year 6129), Part Time day 1st and 2nd years 6129 and Part Time evening 6129. Internal verifier – actively involved with Internal Verification processes as required. • Have an awareness of Health and Safety legislation. • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that all students receive the best possible learning experience. • Be able to contribute to the development of new materials and courses within the section. • Be able to employ a variety of teaching methods to suit the individual and group needs. • Be able to manage a student group and guide them through the course. • Have flexibility to adapt to constantly changing curriculum requirements. • Be able to work effectively as part of a team. • Possess an understanding of and commitment to the equality of opportunities. Desirable • Ability to Speak Welsh. • Experience in the delivery of Gas Courses. |
