We are recruiting for a Hygiene Manager for a leading Food manufacturer, onsite opportunity with our well establish company based in South Wales.

Your New role

The Hygiene Manager will be responsible for all site activities. relating to hygiene measurements and assisting the Technical Manager to maintain quality standards on site.

Salary: Up to £40,000 doe plus benefits


Key Accountabilities

Lead the Site Hygiene Team to deliver the strategy for Food Safety & Hygiene whilst complying with legislation and driving improvement through governance and initiatives.

Build a safety culture across the site, reducing hazards, risks and incidents by driving the Health & Safety agenda through strong hygiene practices. Ensure team members have the correct training and resource to complete the required task in a safe manner. To ensure the SOPs are maintained and that the team are complying to the processes.

Communicate the progress against targets regularly up and down the organisation ensuring that KPI’s are being reviewed and acted upon.

Draw up, implement & revise hygiene policies and Standard Operating Procedures for hygiene operations in conjunction with Chemical suppliers to ensure best practices are maintained throughout

To develop a strong working relationship with our chemical and cleaning equipment suppliers to ensure we are gaining innovation and full contract support.

To ensure the right resource is in place, with the right capability, to deliver the food safety and hygiene strategy.

To support the Operational team with factory issues and support root cause analysis through active participation of the team.

Maintain the site hygiene budget for the site.

Drive continuous improvement at site to improve our hygiene systems and processes through Group and Site initiatives.

To be a values champion for Hygiene and drive employee engagement actions throughout the team.

End of Day clean downs within the Butchery and in the cook room are fully observed taking into consideration the need for species and allergen control within the area.


Skills And Experience


Preferred experience in a FMCG Industry, ideally in a material management role.

Experience in material call off with an in depth understanding of material requisition planning systems and their optimisation.

Strong communication skills and the ability to influence multiple levels of the site.

Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
