Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our Food client’s dynamic engineering team. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving machinery and electrical systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer looking to utilise their technical expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday rotating morning (6:00am – 2:00pm) and afternoon shifts (2:00pm – 10:00 pm), with a requirement to be on call for breakdowns as required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment across the site.
- Diagnose faults using schematics and PLC programmes, implementing effective solutions promptly.
- Perform wiring, wiring modifications, and repairs in accordance with electrical standards.
- Operate and programme programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise machinery performance.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and manuals to facilitate repairs and upgrades.
- Assist with welding tasks as required to repair or modify equipment components.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by liaising with production teams to minimise downtime.
- Document maintenance activities accurately for compliance and future reference.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with practical welding skills.
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC programming.
- Offer problem solving solutions
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, for clear communication within the team.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team under minimal supervision.
- Customer-focused attitude with strong problem-solving capabilities.
